description

Pu Erh tea is perhaps the most esoteric of Chinese varieties, traditionally believed to aid in digestion and reduce cholesterol levels. Its earthy aroma is pronounced, so marrying it to coconut creates a particularly succesful melange.

ingredients

pu erh tea

orange blossoms

coconut aroma

tasting notes

aroma

Characteristic of Pu Erh tea, aromas of earth and leather, with hints of coconut.

appearance

Pu Erh tea leaves with orange flower petals. Clear dark brown liquor.

taste

Characteristic of Pu Erh tea, intense and with immediate primitive earthy notes, masterfully mediated by the addition of coconut whose aroma is more reminiscent of the external fiber than the white pulp itself. Full-bodied, with Pu Erh and coconut that blend naturally without obscuring the nature of the Pu erh, but sublimating instead its most pleasant scents. A clean and not particularly persistent finish.

pairings

Dim sum of steamed buns filled with pork, dumplings and fried rolls. Foods with full flavors and where fats and oils are then soothed with a cup of Pu Erh tea. When it comes to sweets, try it with orange tarts or lemon marmelade.

preparation

250ml of fresh water (filtered if necessary)
water temperature 95̊ C
infusion time, 3 minutes
moderate caffeine
may be consumed morning and afternoon

notes:

A unique tea whose very ancient roots are found in the Yunnan region of southern China. It is fermented several times and is often used in traditional Chinese medicine to reduce blood-fat levels.
